RT7D30 keyboard using PS/2 to USB adapter doesn't work

Question

I have connected my old Dell multimedia keyboard RT7D30 via a PS/2 to USB adapter to my new Dimension 9200 (which has no PS/2 ports) but it doesn't work (although the lights are on). A USB unit is not recognized, Windows says. Please help me.

I have exactly the same issue with my (old) keyboard RT7D30, is simply doesn't work using the ps/2 to USB adapter. Although it should. Have you received any answers and/or suggestions yet how to solve this problem?

Dell said you cannot really tell which adapters work on a certain keyboard, you have to try. I have tried two adapters and noone worked so I kind of gave up.

I purchased an adapter from radio shack (26-273) connecting the RT7D30 to a XPS 410. Works great. Adapter states no drivers needed and it worked as advertised.
