Rambus Memory Upgrade

I upgraded the memory in my 8100 from 256 to 768 mb, but now my computer will boo, but the video and floppy drive seems to be failing. All connections have been checked and both the computer and the monitor is receiving power as well. I have removed the memory, but the same happens. Any suggestions?
