how do i do that? i dont see it under any options on the diagnostics boot

May 16th, 2004 14:00

i dont have that option. here's the 6 ones i have

1. run graphicsadapter advanced diagnostics

2. run the 32 bit dell diagnostics

3. run the 3com nic confrig utility/diags

4. open a dos session

5. reboot system

q. quit w.o.a (return to dos)

to the 2nd reply i dont think that will work, it's a problem with files not copying properly right from the start causing a error in the installation later.

Check the CD for scratches or other physical damage.  BOot the Dell diagnostics CD and test the memory and the hard drive.

Boot the CD and do a full system test - that will include the hard drive and memory.

I am referring to the Dell diagnostics CD - NOT the Windows XP CD.

Run the 32-bit Dell diagnostics - it will test the hard drive and memory for you.

Hi, I am having the same issues in reinstalling my XP to my Inspiron. I have already ran the diagnostic test and it seems there is no error found in the memory.

Where you able to go through with the installation?? Please HELP!!!
