Recieving calls while online

Is there anyway I can know if someone is calling while I'm online? Something to download? Preferably something to let me know I have an incoming call, and allows me to logoff and answer the phone. I don't want to get another phone line.

Hi,

Try CallWave. It is another Internet Answering Machine that's free (you'll have to pay your phone company a couple $ for call fowarding) and forwards your callers so that you can receive their message while on-line. You'll have to get off the net and return the call. Hope this helps.

We use CallWave and it's excellent. The "Forward Call When Busy" option with Bell South costs $1.00 per month. Well worth this small cost. Good luck.

Concerning CallWave: this is a quote from Craig Crossman's weekly newspaper column concerning avoiding "call waiting" charges:

"But if you're pinching every penny and don't want the call forward busy service charge, CallWave can still make all of it work for free. CallWave offers a free 800 number you can give out as an alternative number to call when someone gets your busy signal. To set this free service up, you register your phone number at CallWave's Web site to CallWave's 800 number. When someone calls the toll-free number, he or she is prompted to enter your phone number. From there, the Internet Answering Machine proceeds to function just as it would if someone were to call you directly."

Hope this helps!!!!
