On my last two Dell Computers there is a separate Partioned "D" Drive labeled Recovery. Don't know how it was created, what to do with it, and how to keep it up todate? Help!
The Recovery partition does not require updating. In fact if you change or add anything to it it is useless. Since you upgraded to Win 7, the recovery partition can be deleted or just ignored since it's small. It contained an image file of your old operating system for returning the computer to "as shipped" condition. It will not work after upgrading to win 7. Make sure you never backup anything to the D partition. Always use external drives for backups. The D partition is part of the C drive so is useless in case of a hard drive failure.

Forgot to mention I upgraded both machines from Vista to Windows 7.
