Remote control

I need a driver for a Microsoft IR Transreceiver. I got it from someone who had an older version dell dimension and i wanted to use it for my dimension 8400. when i plug in the usb it says i need a cd to install. So i just need the driver and cant seem to find it on the dell site or the microsoft site. any help or info would be greatly appreciated. thanks..

I have tried to locate a Microsoft USB IR transceiver and cannot locate any specific information on the MS website.  Are you sure that this is a genuine Microsoft product?  Check to see if it is made by Sigmatel or another vendor.  Look for a sticker or label on the device.
 
It may also be helpful to ask you friend if he/she still has the CD that originally came with the IR transceiver.
