Running simple games on Optiplex 745
My "out of the box" 745 (refurbished) now has windows dual boot xp_sp3 and 7 installed. When I try to run "Hoyle Card Games 2009" (in xp), I get the message "this game was unable to find a display with proper requirements". I "assume" that means I need a different video output? Has anyone else here encountered and solved this problem? The 745 is a "just for fun" machine, and I'm learning a lot. Comments Please. ............. rr :emotion-43:

The intel Graphics on a 745 are not sufficent to run most games and with the USFF model there is no fix for this.
For the other models an Asus EAH6450 would work.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned my machine is the SFF. I'll follow up. The power supply is rated at 275W max. To avoid overload, is there a simple way I can determine how much power is currently being used? I tried looking thru XP "computer management" menus but had no success.
