Sidewinder Precision 2 Won't Work Rudder
I originally posted a similar note on the joystick/games board, but not much response. I thought that the breadth and depth of the experience on this board might be of help. I have installed this joystick according to instructions, all functions except rudder work fine, and during the test, it shows the rudder input when I twist the stick. But it has no effect in flight. I have disabled auto-rudder, but still no luck. Should I try to add/remove the program, (had a previous, simpler Sidewinder) or just take the unit back to the store. I would assume all the necessary drivers would come with the software, and don't see any applicable patches for this product.Microsoft is no help, won't let me register even though I have have filled in all the required info. Their support page does not even recognize the product ID. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
If you calibrate the joystick, and it shows the rudder input, then the hardware is working.
You can try exchanging it for another one, but I think it will have the same effect.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game that it does not work with.
Try visiting the game makers web page to see if they have any issues with that joystick.
Try to look at the help.doc for the game to see if there are any issues with that joystick.
Is the game Combat Flight Simulator?
I have had problems with this game accepting the key assignments.
Keys that I assign to perform a particular action do not work, and the default key also do not work.
I have not been able to solve this, as it seems to be a bug with the game.
You may want to also download any patches or updates for the game, as they may solve the problem.
Try the joystick in another game, does it work?

The game I use it on is FS2000. No other games to test it on, but will try to remove/add both FS and the Sidewinder program and see it that straightens in out. Thanks again
