Sims 2 Direct X Graphics Adapter: What to do?

Hello Everyone,

Im new here and i have a question i really need someone to help with!

The other day, my son got a game called The Sims 2. I hear its a very popular game,

and its almost his birthday. Well, i got it home and installed it for him. Once the installation

was complete, I clicked the Desktop icon for the game and waited for it to begin. Well, when

I clicked it, a box came up that said:

Failed To enumerate any DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapters in this system!

Please make sure you have a DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapter and have installed

the latest manufacturer provided driver.

This application will now terminate....

Im pretty sure i have DirectX on my system. I run a Dell Dimension E510. My son really wants to play this

and ive gone through many downloads but have not found any to work. Please help me find this Driver or

Adapter so i can download it and play this game and other 3D games like this with no problem. (My System is a Windows XP)

Unknown what video card if any you have.  Some of those system only came with the Integrated video chip, not a true video card and if that is the case, I suggest you purchase a dedicated video card.  Many to select from to play that game and many others.

First tell us the video on that system
