Sonic Update Manager - startup script
I applied the Dell fix (noted below) but now get this script with two popup windows during login. Any idea what service or why Sonic has this scripting run?? thanks

Apparently the idea was for the InstallShield software to check for updates regularly, but however Sonic/Roxio/Installshield did it they messed it up. There's no need for it to be running at startup anyway - if you need an update you can find it manually, though it's unlikely there will be one, since the problem is mostly associated with older versions of the software).
If the hotfix didn't do its job and still gives you popups, try one of these other fixes:
1) Uninstall "Sonic Update Manager" from Add/Remove Programs
2) Use the "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility" mentioned in the second half of that Dell article to remove the installer information for Sonic Update Manager
3) Use MSCONFIG to stop the programs from starting when your PC does.
Start, Run, type MSCONFIG. Under the Startup Tab, look for anything related to Sonic in the Command or Location tab and disable it. The startup items that are usually the culprit are isuspm or issch (Install Shield Update Service and Install Shield Scheduler).
