SoundMAX & Win 7 Incompatibility Issue
I just purchased a "refurbished" Dell Optiplex GX 620 with Windows 7. When I turned it on I had no sounds so I went to Device Manager and it said, "Your sound card is not working properly because a compatible driver is not available for this version of Windows." I have a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio sound card. I have downloaded and installed several drivers (from online driver sources) that said they were for my sound card but they didn't fix the problem. Can someone please help me out?:emotion-7:

My first idea would be to right-click the device in Device Manager and try the 'Update Driver' wizard.

I have and it says that it can't find any compatible drivers.

It's there; you can download it from Microsoft Update Catalog.

I do not agree that you looked because they ARE there. 32 and 64 bit WHQL Certified Versions.
DirectX June 2010 is also Highly Recommended.
Download DirectX Redist (June 2010) from Official Microsoft ...
Download file, Extract to a folder, RUN DXSETUP.EXE as Administrator.
The Analog Devices AD198X codec does have WHQL drivers from the Microsoft Catalog.
microsoft catalog Analog Devices 5.12.1.7010 32 BIT

microsoft catalog Analog Devices 5.12.2.7010 64 BIT

Supported Update IDs
R145551.EXE 32 BIT
R145149.EXE 64 BIT
