Start Up Error Message

On Start up I am getting a blue screen with the message to hit Control+Alt+Delete with an error message: OE:019:BFF77328

Can anybody throw any light on this problem with a solution.

Which version of Windows are you running?  Does the error message say anything else (post the full and exact text of the error message)?  Did you recently add any new software or hardware to your computer?

Hi,

Thanks for your swift response.

I started up my computer today and could not believe that the error message no longer appeared. At present, my computer seems to be working normally but this does not mean that the problem has disappeared. However, I have lost my Broadband connection and have had to revert to dial-up. AOL engineers say that I have a hissing sound coming thru my phone line.

Could the two problems be connected?

I am using Windows ME and have not installed any new software. However, I have recently reformatted my hard drive and up to yesterday, Sunday, continued to recieve the mysterious error message.

On start up I am now receiving the following message (exact text):

AN ERROR HAS OCCURED. TO CONTINUE PRESS ENTER TO RETURN TO WINDOW, OR PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. IF YOU DO THIS, YOU WILL LOSE ANY UNSAVED INFORMATION IN ALL OPEN APPLICATIONS

ERROR: OE : 0197 : BFF7B018

PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE

Does anybody have a solution to this problem. I am operating Windows ME

This is the kind of error that is most difficult to figure out, as there is so little information supplied in the error message.  Furthermore, there information found in a search using google.com.  There are a few suggestions in the following discussion:

You can also use the method at the following site to perhaps get a more detailed description of the error:

A lot of the posts on that link refer to Norton products and I have to say, thinking about it, I started having blue screens after installing NAV 2003.  I ran the driver verifier to see if it showed anything, and on boot up, got a blue screen stating SAVRT.sys was at fault.  I'm not saying that its these products that are causing problems, but its quite strange.

Has anyone else experienced problems with Symantec products?
