System will not boot

Hi,

I installed a new HD today and when I went to restart the system, it would'nt. The POST stuff goes ok but when it goes to read the boot disk (either fixed or removeable) all I get is a black screen with the cursor flashing in the upper left corner. Been through the BIOS setup and everything looks good. All devices are recognized. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Frank

I'm assuming you formatted the new HD and slipped the Boot Disk in the Floppy drive?

No, I had not formatted the new drive yet. I set it up for cable select with the jumpers and figured I would format it from drive 0 (the current boot drive). The system will not boot with or without the new drive installed. The system will not boot from a floppy. After the end of POST beep, all you get is a flashing cursor in the upper left hand corner of the screen. If the floppy is set to be the first choice for boot, that drive light runs continouosly.
