T1600 actual RAM capacity

Tech sheet http://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprtl_precision_workstation/precision-t1600_setup%20guide_en-us.pdf says:

Memory module connector:
four DIMM slots
Memory module capacity
1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB
Type
ECC/Non–ECC DDR3, 1333 MHz
Minimum memory
1 GB
Maximum memory
32 GB
4 × 4 = 16 this week, so is the actual maximum 16 or is the actual per-slot capacity 8?

Max ram is 16 gigs not 32  You cannot use Quad rank memory.

Chipset: Intel C206  FROM 2011

DDR3L PC3L-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3L-1600 • 1.35V • 512Meg x 64 •

AKA 4 SLOTS 4 GIGS MAX PER DIMM PERIOD END.

32 HAS NEVER BEEN AN OPTION NOR HAS 8 GIG PER DIMM (QUAD RANK) BEEN an option.

Thanks. I was confused because the documentation says 4 slots, 4 per slot, max 32.
