Thanks again you're the best!!

Only one question, I am Structural Engeneer, I mainly use AutoCAD, CSI Etabs and CSI Sap2000 (Structural Design Software), Office and occasional gamer.

What you will use, ECC or Non ECC?

In my experience, Value Ram works reliably about 2/3 of the time, more so with the newer models.  There have been many reports of problems for users with value ram on this and other forums, which often costs the same or more as ram from Crucial, which is guaranteed compatible.  But if it's cheap and returnable and you have the time and inclination, give it a try.

Hello,

I don't know if the buy.com memory will work in your system.

Crucial makes "lots" of memory part numbers that seem to be very similar. But only warrant one part number for each type of memory for each system model number. So getting from Crucial you get a lifetime warranty for memory guaranteed to work in your model.

Buy.com costs $2 more for memory that may work and has a much shorter warranty.

It's a no brainer from where I sit.

I ordered Kingston KTD-DM8400C6E/2G memory as it is CL6, alot of memory out there is CL5, I asked Kingston why were they making CL6 memory and they replied that the CL6 memory is more stable than the CL5

I see Dell is still shipping systems with CL5 memory
