It's just a program that manipulates the audio. Some folks love it others wouldn't use it for love or money. You might want to try it to see what you think. I happen to like it so I use it. But sure you can zap it if that's what you want to do. That won't interfere with anything else.
Thanks for that information, but shouldn't there be some documentation somewhere that explains how to use it or what effect it has? Nothing on Creative's website, nothing on THX, nothing on Dell. Sounds like bloatware to me. I shouldn't have to spend time fiddling with settings to figure out what something means.
THX TruStudio Surround: Provides virtual surround sound channels to control the level of immersion. THX TruStudio Crystalizer: Improves the natural dynamic range of compressed music. THX TruStudio Speaker: Improves low frequency elements and gives you the extra bass impact for sound systems without a subwoofer. THX TruStudio Dialog Plus: Enhances dialogue intelligibility, allowing you to clearly understand dialogue along with music and ambient effects. THX TruStudio Smart Volume: Automatically measures and adjusts volume to minimize sudden changes, so you don’t have to reach for the volume dial.
But no user guide or support.
Based on the above marketing copy (that's all it is) I don't see anything that isn't duplicated by other applications that came with my computer, and nothing that I really need. It's gone.

Might as well try it first.

I can't argue with that logic. I just played a music CD and played with it. There isn't all that much to the program.

Alright, I found something on the THX website:
