Targus Mouse Problems

I recently ordered a Targus Laser Desktop Mouse from Dell. It is a AMU14. It "wanders" and wobbles and I can't control, especially when I first turn on my computer in the morning. For a few hours sometimes but gets better as the day goes on. Any ideas what the problem is and how I can solve it? (Doesn't need drivers installed upon first hooking it up, so likely not a driver problem...). Thnx.

Wait a minute please....

The Targus Laser Desktop Mouse was RECOGNIZED by the operating system and a GENERIC driver was installed. So no, drivers are an issue if they are not designed for your specific device. If a driver accompanied your device, I strongly suggest that you un-install the current driver and install the correct one that came with the new device.

I have similar issues (but maybe not as bad).  I turned down the pointer speed and that helped a little, but I am about to go buy a new mouse.
The other issue I have is there is no option to configure the EIGHT buttons.

Oddly enought there is no driver supplied with this mouse and not available on the Targus or Dell websites.  As per Targus System Requirements
  • Windows® 2000, XP and USB port (no driver required)
