Two CPU cores running hot

Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for any advice.  I've got an XPS 720 that's runs like a charm, really no problems at all, but I've been noticing that my CPU cores run hot on some part.  Core 1, via Speedfan, is at least 8 degrees celcius hotter than Core 4.  There is a slow decrease from Core 1->Core 4.  I was wondering if any of you had any idea what is causing this.  The only thing I can think of is a poor connection between the heatsink and the processor.  Any ideas?  Thanks

Sure, sorry I didn't do that earlier,

Here they are, though so you know this isn't under any intense load, just basic

Core 0 is 47, COre 1 is 46, core 2 is 43, core 4 is 39.

It flucatuates around these given temps as I'm typing this, but you can see the general trend.

Also as a side note, I've had the mobo replaced twice on this thing, something weird witha  memory module was shorting something, so Dell's only idea was replacement.  Each time, I've reapplied Artic silver 5 thermal grease.  It spread pretty evenly when I've looked at it, but I dont know if this is the problem.  Thanks again people!

Honeslty I don't see anything wrong with those temps.

What you really need to do is to exercise them and see how they perform under load

A good tester would be OCCT from HERE

Thanks for all the thoughts Davet, I'll try the stress test and see what happens.  It's not that I'm worried about the temps being high, I dont think they are that bad at all, just worried about the spread from Core-Core, and if that is normal, or some artifact of speedfan.  I'll run the stress test the next chance I get.  Thanks

Ok, ran the OCCT test like you recommened, and everything was stable, with the first 2 cores maxing out at 68, and the last 2 at 62.  What do you think, there is still that gradient across the cores, nothing to worry about in terms of temps, but it is kind of a nagging problem.  Thanks

Nothing to worry about the gradient either. 5 degs is very good and the max temps are excellent. The chip and your cooling system are performing right up to specs..

These tests realy stress the system so under normal use you will not approach those temps even with intense gaming...
