USB ports not responding properly XPS 435

I have an older XPS 435t with a number of USB ports on the front as well as card readers. NONE of the card readers work and the USB ports only sporadically. Is there a fix or is it new computer time?

Hi Rosshomer, 

Thanks for writing to us. 

Please log onto support.euro.dell.com, enter your system tag# and submit. 

Select drivers and downloads and chose your operating system and install the drivers under chipset. 

restart the machine and observe for any changes. 

If still the same, consider reinstalling windows , if still the same, then consider replacing the parts or buy a new machine.
