USFF 755 and 760 processor upgrade.

All, I have acquired an optiplex 755 usff and optiplex 760 usff and want to setup home based virtual labs on them.

Currently they have E2160 and E2200 procs respectively.

I want to know are there any quad cores that I can upgrade them with?

I went out and bought 2 Q8200 and both stop at:

Alert! Incompatible processor detected.

System Halted!

Can someone please comment?

I searched and searched but can't find an accurate answer to that question.

Please ensure you update the BIOS before processor upgrade. Please click the link mentioned below which will take you to the drivers website:

Enter the Service Tag of the computer and choose the Operating System installed on the computer. Please update the latest version of drivers and BIOS available.

Hi Manshu. Thanks for replying. Are you sure the aboe are for USFF chassis? I was pretty sure about Q8200 would work in the Optiplex 760 but it halted at incompatible message. I also upgraded to the latest BIOS for 760 - A15. How can I ensure that Q8200 will work?

I used Q8200 and it doesn't work on my optiplex 760 usff. Can someone help me the right direction?

You cant use a 95W processor in a USFF that only has 150W Power brick.
