Updating/Configuring bios remotely

Hi all,

we have approx 300 dell workstations throughout our office.  Im wondering if there is anyway that we can:

a. Remotely update the bios to the latest version

b. Enable/configure bios remotely, ie: turn Wake On LAN on, boot to PXE, etc.

This would be EXTREMELY helpful, otherwise we have to visit each workstation manually which isnt very fun.  we have Optiplex 400's, 260's and 270's.

If the BIOS update can be done from windows then you may be able to do this but as the update usually runs at boot of the system I do not think that you can do this. Also with multiple systems you may have further problems.

I, too, need this feature!  I have over 2000 GX270's from coast to coast that need to have the "AC POWER RECOVERY" setting in BIOS set to "LAST".  There HAS to be a way to do this without being in front of the machine.

Any help, Dell?

So is this issue fixed with Open Manage? Is that the consensus?
