Upgrade for dell xps 8700 video card

Hey, I wanna start video editing on my dell xps 8700 and was wondering what video card i should upgrade to i was looking at the nvidia gtx 970 and was wondering if it was compatible with my system. Its the standard load out from dell. appreciate any help with this topic.
