Using integrated audio in XPS 420
I'm one of the many 420 owners with the occassional screeching sound card. I would like to remove the card and use the integrated audio. Can anyone give me some information on making this transition. Is it a simple matter of removing the card and it's drivers and plugging my speakers and sub into the integrated audio connections? Do I need to install a special driver for the integrated audio? If so, which one?
Thanks for any help.

After removing the card and drivers, you'll have to turn the integrated audio on in the BIOS (F2 at the boot screen). Should be listed under "Onboard devices".
After that, the OS should recognize it as new hardware - but don't let Microsoft automatically find the driver. Instead, download and install the Dell Sigmatel driver from the support page. Then just make sure Sigmatel is set as the default audio in Control Panel.
What I don't know offhand is how the front panel jacks will be affected. Usually the Creative card has a separate cable connection directly to the front panel for just the headphones, but the integrated audio is wired into the the big single front panel I/O connector instead. Hopefully it's as simple as disconnecting the card's cable, then the integrated will automatically take over, but I really can't say for sure.
