VCache settings
A Dell Technician led me through a process to change my memory settings to run as a server for better memory performance. Since then, I've upgraded my RAM to 256. What values should I change in system.ini [386enh] and [VCache] to reflect this? i.e. MinSPS=?, maxfilecache,minfilecache,chunksize=?

As for your MinSPS setting. With 256 meg of RAM I have mine set to 8. Now I'm up to 384 megs and still use the same setting. No problems and no errors messages so I left it alone.
The standard disclaimer.... I don't work for Dell nor am I associated with Dell. I'm not even related to Michael Dell, although there are times I would like to be the first born son to Bill Gate$.
If Windows was perfect, Bill wouldn't
be trying to sell you the next version.

Step 1. Click System.ini in your \Windows folder.
Step 2. Add the following two lines to the [vcache] section (add the section if it's not there):
MinFileCache=4096
MaxFileCache=4096
Step 3. If you have more than 16MB of RAM, set the above values to about 25 percent of your installed RAM.
Step 4. Save the edited System.ini file and restart Windows.
You are restricting the amount of RAM that Windows is allowed to use for disk cachin

PS. You can also add the line: ChunkSize=512 below MaxFileCache.
