Video not compatible with direct 3D

We have a screen saver which is assigned by group policy, and depending on which monitor is connected into the desktop the screen saver either works or I get a message which states “The screen saver can’t run because it requires a newer video card or one that’s compatible with Direct 3D”. Microsoft created a Hot Fix to correct the problem, but when I try to install it I am told that the Hot Fix is not applicable to my system. I have tried to install this Hot Fix on several system, all OptiPlex 390s or 3010s running W7 SP1 and received the same message. Many of the monitors are Dell E2211H (Analog) monitors, but I do have a very old Dell E1512FP monitor on a XP machine which runs the screen saver with no problems. The dell client system update tells me that I have all the most current hardware drivers loaded on the desktops I have tested with the problem, so right now I am looking for another type of solution. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
