Vostro 270 Memory

The installed memory was 4GB. I upgraded to 8GB, but would like more. I get conflicting info on the Dell Website. In some places, it says the Max is 8GB. I was also told that on the phone. Even at Best Buy. However, when I go to Support/Memory Upgrades, it says the Maximum Memory is 16 GB. Is there any way to upgrade to 16?

Very rarely does Dell update the specifications of their EOL computers

Crucial specifies 16gb [2x8gb DDR3 modules].

Personally, I've had no issues using Crucial's memory recommendation, because their upgrades are guaranteed compatible.

Bev, thanks so much. Other questions. I already have an 8GB in the computer that was installed by Best Buy. Probably a PNY. Would an added 8GB from Crucial be compatible or should I put in 2 from Crucial? What does EOL your message mean?

Yes, it should be compatible, but to be certain, try using Crucial Scanning Tool, Here:

EOL > End of Life > The computer is no longer in production
