Vostro 360 vs Inspiron One AIO
Hi there,
I just bought online a Vostro 360 all in one here in Argentina and I wanted to ask which the difference is between that computer and the Inspiron AIO models?
The Inspiron One AIO models are being sold in many supermarkets and big electronics stores but I haven't seen any Vostro 3609 in there despite they look pretty similar.
Thanks for your help.

That information is not available but is moot. They are the same.
Vostro is a line of computers from Dell aimed at the small business market.
Inspiron is a line of computers from Dell aimed at the home market.

Both the Vostro 360 and the Inspiron One 2320 were announced in October 2011.
The previous generation of the Inpiron One have a questionable service record. If you really want a computer that is like an Apple iMac then I would suggest that you get an Apple iMac, but you can't get one at a grocery store ;)

Dell Announces Next Line of All-in-One Inspiron Ones

Dell has announced a new addition to its Inspiron all-in-one desktop line—the One 2320.
The chassis is similar to previous models, like the most recently reviewed Inspiron One 2305-4429MSL. The One 2320 has a 23-inch widescreen monitor (2.67 inches thick) that displays in full 1080p HD. Beneath the chassis there's enough room between the leg stands to slide your keyboard under the monitor; in case you need to clear space. Above the display is a built-in HD webcam for video chatting.
Dell's Web site has listed the starting price at $949 for one of its touch-screen models, but that's if you don't add any extra bells and whistles, like Blu-ray or extra RAM. However, retailers can configure these models with or without touch, with a CPU as low as an Intel Pentium dual-core or as powerful as a Core i7 processor. Memory configuration begins with 2GB and can go as high as 8GB. Integrated graphics come standard, but an Nvidia GeForce GT 525M discrete solution is available for mid-range gaming.
The port selection is quite extensive, including six USB 2.0, VGA, HDMI-in, SPDIF-out, TV Tuner (CoAx), IR Blaster, Ethernet, audio jacks, an 8-in-1 media card reader, and component inputs. The HDMI-in and Component-in ports are most notable, as you can hook up a game console or another PC and utilize the 23-inch monitor to display your content. So even after the components inside become dated, you can still utilize the 1080p widescreen.
The Inspiron One 2320 also comes bundled with Dell's Stage software, which is a launcher utility (with big buttons) that sits on the desktop and acts as a shortcut to photos, videos, and pages on the web.

Dell today announced its Vostro 360 all-in-one, iMac-like desktop PC.
ZoomThis PC is designed to take up minimum space with the keyboard fitting beneath the 23-inch screen when the device is stored away.
Dell is offering the Vostro 360 as an update for the 330 model and ships with Intel's Sandy Bridge processors. Pricing starts at $700, including an i3-2100 (3.1 GHz) processor, integrated graphics, 2 GB of memory and a 500 GB hard drive. The addition of more memory (4 GB), as well as a touch screen panel will lift the price to $850. Targeted at small businesses, Dell does not offer processor, storage, or graphics upgrades to avoid inventory mess.
However, you can buy plenty of accessories, such as printers, as well as support and backup packages. Dell says that the Vostro will be able to be equipped for a Blu-ray drive and Bluetooth support, which we could not find at the time of this writing.
In case you are wondering, Apple's iMac starts at $1200.

Some Models of the Imac are less however. You just need to know which ones are the type you need.
From Late 2006 on IMACS use Intel processors. Some use intel Graphics and some have Radeon GPU.
My preference is for the Radeon Equipped models.
Oldest that meets my min requirements is (Apple iMac 20" A1207 Late 2006, 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, ATI Radeon X1600/256MB VRAM.
Available from these sellers.

It is bad idea to buy a used all-in-one computer, Many parts are propritary and specific to the machine and, other than iMacs, they are not very prolific so used parts are hard to come buy. One bad part, a fan, a inverter board, whatever, can render the whole thing useless.

I fix used machines all the time and it is difficult to get replacement parts for the all in one machines from Dell, Gateway, HP, Sony, Asus, etc, particularly if they are a few years old and outside of their original manufacturer warranty. They are filled with proprietary components and so can not be compared to regular desktop computers from a service and support perspective. Considering the problems with the Inspion One reported in this forum they are not even attractive when new, so it would not make any sense to get a used one.
