Vostro vs. Studio desktops

Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a Dell desktop (core 2 duo), either a Vostro 220 or Studio (both are mini towers). But I have 2 questions.

I realise Vostro and Studio desktops are marketed to different customers, but is there meant to any hardware quality difference between the two? I presume both are better than Inspiron desktops?

How quiet are Vostro or Studio desktops? I guess I can always change the video card if it's noisy, so the question is really about the CPU and case fans.

I've tried asking Dell customer service, but the guy did not have any info on the parts. Doesn't even know if the video card has a fan. So that's why I'm seeking help here.

Thanks in advance!

There is a "what do I buy" section on the forum and you may want to post there.

However, in general, the Vostro line is aimed at small business, not home/consumers.   The XPS models are the top line consumer models.

Thanks, I'll try the what do i buy section.

As I said, I realise they are marketed to different customers, but what I want to know are if they have specific hardware quality differences.

You would have to take a specific model Vostro and a specific model Studio and then actually compare exactly what is inside.  But, I don't think that information is available anywhere.  The motherboards are all Dell custom OEM, not stock Retail boards, and even if they have the same CPU and chipset on them they can be different.  What is offered as options can be different too.

From what I've seen, the Vostro's are not "ruggedized" commercial application systems.
