Webcam

I recently got my laptop fixed because the hard drive stopped working and now that I've got it back, it's without Dell Central Webcam. I think that while looking for a suitable download offline, some sort of virus has taken over the integrated webcam. I tried using a plug in webcam which worked for a while, but now my computer doesn't even accept that. I use the webcam for skype and my picture doesn't appear. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly as my knowledge of computers is limited!

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for your help.

When I try and register my computer to download dell central webcam, it doesn't get past the 'examining your computer stage'. I'm using Internet Explorer but it still doesn't seem to work.

Hi B_an_an_a,

Thank you for your reply.

We are sorry about the inconvenience caused and hope the following steps resolve the issue at the earliest.

You must use Internet Explorer with Microsoft.Net Framework 3.0 or greater to register your system. My Dell Downloads does not support Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

  1. Log into Dell My Account from the system you want to register as shown above.
  2. On the My Download Locker page, click Add System.
  3. Agree to the End User License Agreement.
  4. Click Register System.
  5. You may see a notice in the Internet Explorer tool bar indicating that you need to install Active X Controls. Click the information bar on the web browser to allow Active X to install.

Click on the link below for FAQs related to My Dell Downloads from where you can download and install the Dell Webcam Software:

hey,

it's still not working, I'm wondering if it's because the internet explorer I have isn't 3.0. I'm not sure which one it is though so I have no way of knowing...
