What does a media card reader do???
Hello Everyone ;), Please excuse my lack of computer knowledge but what does a media card reader do??? I am going to order a Dell Inspiron 530 w/ Windows XP Home, Intel 2 Quad Porcessor Q6600 2.4 GHZ, 750 GB Hard Drive, 4 GB Dual Channel Memory, ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro Video Card. One of the options I have when ordering is between either a #1) a Dell 19 in 1 Media Card Reader or #2) a 3.5" Floppy Drive. I want the Floppy Drive because I already have some 3.5" Disks I want to download but don't know if the Media Card Reader is something important that I will be missing out on. Thanks ;), Bill
ps, I posted this here even though I'm getting an Inspiron & not an XPS because after doing a search I saw that all the Media Card questions were here. Was this right to do?

I definately think a media card reader is better because also included with it is bluetooth. As far as what a media card does, t is able to read all different types of storage cards such as SD, pro duo, MC etc.. Which is also used on devices such as digital cameras. It is convientent that all you have to do is take out the memory card plug it into the media card reader, quick and no wires. Also great is the bluetooth function so you are able to hook up wireless bluetooth keyboard, mouse, head phones, cell phones and so on.
