The GX 520 came in 3 different versions which were the Mini Tower, Desktop & Small Form Factor.  I believe the Mini Tower is the only one the came with a PCI Express x1 slot and the others have only PCI slots for expansion cards.  If you have the Mini Tower, I would look at this video card HERE.  If you have one of the others, you're stuck with the older PCI cards only.

You simply do not have many choices at all for an older system like the GX 520 and I would not feel comfortable trying a PCI card.  The one I linked is the one I would try.  The Nvidia GT 610 is out there also which would offer better performance, but it just depends on the purpose you're going to use it for. You can't turn this computer into some gaming machine.  The PCIe x1 HD 5450 or GT 610 would be the most up-to-date cards you will find that I can see.

You have practically Zero choices with a 520 because it DOES NOT HAVE an X16 video slot.

Only the Tower Model has X1 video slot.

You DO NOT HAVE A TOWER and therefore HAVE ZERO PCI-E video slots. Low profile 32 bit 33MHZ PCI 2.3 cards are close to impossible to find now.

32 Bit 33Mhz PCI is the wrong way to go when it costs over $50.

Regulatory Model (Mini-Tower): DCSM

Regulatory Model (Desktop): DCNE

Regulatory Model (Small Form Factor): DCCY

Regulatory Model (Ultra Small Form Factor): DCTR

A larger system Like a Precision 380 or even a GX620 tower has many more options.

Precision 380 Intel Pentium D 3.00GHz 2GB 160GB DVD-RW Windows 7 w/Disc

It wont fit into the slot with the tall bracket. That's why it has low profile bracket.
