What is the difference between IDE & ATA ?

I ran the Belarc Advisor on the Dell site Back in May and it showed listed under my Controllers:
Standard Floppy Disk Controller
Intel(r)82801BA Ultra ATA Storage Controller
Primary IDE controller(dual info)
Secondary IDE controller(dual info)

However, when I ran it again today on the Belarc site it listed the Controllers info thus:
Standard Floppy Disk Controller
Intel(r)82801BA Ultra ATA Controller
Primary Ultra ATA controller
Secondary Ultra ATA controller

I loaded the updated drivers for the Intel 850 Chipset and Ultra ATA Storage Controller in June.Could that have caused the change?

That's exactly what changed it. It's just semantics.

ATA (AT Attachment): The specification for IDE drives. See IDE.

IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics): The controlling electronics built into an IDE drive.
