What newer processors and graphics cards does the Dell XPS 430 motherboard support
So currently I have this system:
Case: Dell XPS 430 Barebone black
Motherboard: Dell XPS 430
CPU: Intel core 2 quad 8400 @ 2.66GHz
GPU: Inno 3D GeForce GTX 460 1GB
RAM: 8GB
And I was wondering can I replace the CPU and Graphics card with something like a Core i5/i7 and a GTX 560-580(I'm also open to any AMD products)? I'm not very good with PC hardware so sorry if this post seems stupid to some of you :emotion-2: (Also sorry if I made some spelling/grammar mistakes, I'm not from an english speaking country)

Neither the i5, or the i7 are supported by the XPS 430.

Yes, but you will need to upgrade the power supply.
Look for a standard ATX power supply with a minimum of 550w and all the connections required by the XPS 430 with six SATA power connectors.
The default PSU only has one PCIe 6-pin power cable and the GTX 560 needs two.

I would stay with the GTX 560. You may not get the most out of the GTX 560 Ti with your Q8400. I would also try to spend as little as possible, but still getting a good name brand. I would choose this one HERE since EVGA is generally considered Nvidia's best brand. Also, due to your BTX case design, those dual fans may not work out well with your CPU heatsink housing being in the way and the fan on the video card being right underneath it and facing up versus down in a normal ATX type case. I think the EVGA would work out best where the fan will hopefully be clear of the heatsink.

Sorry, but it's virtually impossible to install a ATX motherboard into a BTX chassis
Yes, you should be able to install a Radeon HD 6850 graphics card on a ATX Micro motherboard, providing the case has the space for it and you will loose the use of PCI slot, next to the PCIe x16 slot.

And what about graphics cards? Can the XPS 430 handle a GTX 560? I want a more serious gaming machine, but I don't have enough money to pay for a brand-new PC. Though even with my current rig, I can still play demanding games, like Crysis, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Metro 2033, Mass Effect etc, on pretty high graphics settings(I play Battlefield 3 on Ultra with 30-40FPS).

Oh ok. Than what is the most powerful CPU supported by the Dell XPS 430?

I just have one final question. I decided to keep my current CPU(Core 2 Quad q8400) and get a GTX 560 Graphics Card. Nowever I'm not sure which GTX 560 I should get. I'm thinking the "Gigabyte GTX 560 TI OC 1GB", that will work right? My other option is an "Asus GTX560 1 GB GDDR5". And yes I will be changing the power supply.

I agree, I think the best bang for the buck, is the GTX 560.

Yeah, I thought the heatsink housing would be a problem. Well I might start saving up money and I might just build a new PC in a year or so. I'm not sure what parts to get, but I was thinking an ASUS Rampage 3 Extreme motherboard, GTX 580, 8-16GB RAM, Cooler Master HAF X Case, a 128GB SSD and 2TB HDD and a DVD Burner. Not sure about the power supply, but I'm thinking a 750W(because If I'm going to upgrade in the future I don't have to worry about it).

I would not go with that motherboard since it is a 1366 socket. I would go with the 1155 socket motherboard which is much more affordable and can use the better processors. Specifically a Z68 is what you want.

I decided to look around and I "gathered" the parts I want. However as I said I'm not too good with PC hardware so if you could give me any tips I'd be greatful:
Motherboard: Asrock Extreme 4 Intel Z68 DDR3 LGA 1155
CPU: Intel Core i7 3820 3.6GHz LGA2011
Cooling system: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 580
Power Supply: Antec TP-750 Blue EC
RAM: Corsair DIMM DDR3 kit 2 x 8 GB 1600 MHz C10 Vengeance
Case: Corsair Graphite 600T SE White Window или Cooler Master HAF X
Hard Disk: SSD Corsair 120 GB CSSD-F120GB3-BK 2.5" SATA(BootDrive); Western Digital Green 2TB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
If I'm building this PC, it's probobly going to be late this summer, maybe next year(max).
