Hi ipwn3r456,
Welcome to the Community.
There are different brands of power supply Dell uses with XPS 8300.
1) Delta
2) HUNTKEY
3) ACBEL

Does telling the buying date of the Dell XPS 8300 helps finding the specific brand? I bought my Dell XPS 8300 on August 22, 2011.

It would not help by providing the details of purchase date, as it would depend on the availability of the power supply in the warehouse at that particular time.

Umm, I founded out that its made from Huntkey, by checking the UL registration number. I got a question, are they really 460 watts power supplies, or higher? Doesn't seem to be make sense that a 460 watts power supply would have two 6 pin power connectors.

Also, is Huntkey a good brand for power supply?

Like any other brand, they probably have different levels of quality. Being an OEM component, I would not think you would find the same quality as a good well known retail brand because Dell would be trying to save money where it can on parts.
If your concern is about using video cards, then you can only give it a try to see how well it performs. I would think any of the AMD 7800 series would be fine. Remember that the video cards that Dell puts in are not the same as retail even though they have the same chip name. Therefore, on the Nvidia side, a GTX 560 may be as high as I would go.
