Will all P4 support HT?
I have a 2 month old Dell 4550 with a 2.53GHz P4 533fsb.
Bios is A05. I think I read somewhere the Dell Bios A05 supports HT. However when looking in the bios, I see nothing where you can enable HT. So you need a bios that will support HT? I see where Dell has released bios A06. Does it support HT?
Next do you need a P4 that is specifically HT enabled or will any P4 be HT enhanced with the proper bios? I see where you can buy mainstream P4 like the 2.4, 2.66, 2.80 that are HT enabled. No mention of the 2.53GHz.
Thanks
Dale

HyperThreading=P4 3.06ghz w/533mhz front side bus & and any P4 w/800mhz front side bus.
As far as I know the only way to add HyperThreading to your 4550 is to put the 3.06ghz 533mhz fsb chip in it.
