Will this RAM work in Precision T3400?

I would like to upgrade my system to 16GB of memory, and I was wondering if the Kingston KTH-XW9400K2/8G is compatible with my system. Here's the ebay link:

Thanks

NO.  That Ram is Buffered, Registered ECC

The 3400 uses

DDR2 PC2-6400 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • ECC or NON ECC • DDR2-800 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64

You cant use 8 gig dimms ever it only has 4 slots.

4 Gig DDR2 sticks are going to be VERY hard to find.

Registered ECC DDR2 Ram DOES NOT WORK in the T3400

it does work in older units like the Precision 490 and 690.

I would sell your T3400 and look for a T3500 on ebay.

The T3500 has 6 slots and goes up to 24 Gig of DDR3 1600
