Win 7 Not Available?
I'd like to buy a new Inspiron Small Desktop computer but I won't go to Win 10. Too much stuff I don't want or need. I have to stay with win 7. Any ideas for me?
Thanks

Windows 7 is largely sold with business-class systems now. To use 7, you will need to look for a sixth generation (Skylake) or older CPU -- anything with a seventh-generation or Ryzen CPU (Intel 7xxx, AMD R3/R5/R7) will require Windows 10.
If you don't like the 10 interface, you can replace it with a free utility called Classic Shell, which will make 10 look and work just like 7.
Also note that within the life of a new system, Windows 7 will go the way of XP -- that is, security updates for it will cease in 2020, so there's good reason to go with 10 unless you don't plan on keeping the system more than a couple of years.

ejn63,
Thank you for your help. I googled for it and have now read quite a bit about it. I will buy the small desktop, download Classic Shell, and see if I can make them serve my simple needs.
Again, thank you very much.

You can still buy OEM Windows 7 on amazon etc.
Then get an older Optiplex Tower.
