Windows Media Center Slide Show

Hi I am having difficulties adding music then creating a DVD to a slide show within Windows Media Center( WMC ). I have WMC installed on my Dell Dimension E510 computer with Windows XP, sp3 installed.

The WMC help page indicates to insert a DVD in the drive and the adding of music proceedures will be provided. This does not happen. Nothing happens at this time. I can start music before beginning a slide show but then the music will not be imbedded in the show and would not be included in a recording.

The WMC page for starting  a slide show also has a " create CD/DVD " selection . Clicking on this area does nothing. Right clicking on this area creates a sub menu with " create a CD/DVD " area. Clicking here returns back to the previous menu.

The program states that both the inserting of music and creation of DVD's are features of the program.
