Thanks anyway Denny, but Microsoft support has never helped me (though I did take a stab at a few of those solutions).
I used the following page as a solution and after a bit of re-arranging, I have everything back the way it was with the burner running fine. :) http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winme/r1036474777
Apparently, what I did to solve it was move my current windows folder to "oldwin" in DOS and have a cleaninstall. I lost very few of my program files and documents. yay!
haha...this post is mostly just a follow up and a thank you for the suggestion.
