Dell Spare Parts

For future reference maybe use compressed air then clean the fan instead of throwing it away.

thx keith, I shouldn't have threw it away.. really. I found out that BIOS will not recognize any non-dell fans...

Bad thing is, since i threw away that fan i have no parts number or whatsoever to order..

is "cpu fan failuer" warning really a problem or just a message indicating i'm not using dell compatible fan?

My fan looks like its working fine.. would it be a problem if I keep using this fan instead?

-- I think I'm getting the error message because it is no longer powered through the motherboard and is powered from PSU directly.. if this is the case, how do i get rid of the error message?

The only way to stop the error message, is to install correct Dell fan, when you call Dell Spare Parts, give the PC's Service Tag

The non-Dell fan you have will work just fine, except you will receive the error message at every boot.
