XPS 410 failure to recognize memory
Upgraded memory from 2GB to 4GB. Memory supplied by Dell. Bios upgraded and recognizes all four DIMMS; however, "System" only recognizes 3.00 GB. Is this normal with this processor? Intel DuoCore 6400 processor @2.13 GHz.

Your operating system is the factor here. 32 bit operating systems can recognize only up to a little over 3 gb's of ram. See this explanation from the crucial web site.
