XPS 710 powers up but does not boot

I have a 3 year old Dell XPS 710 and it powers up but does not boot.  The monitor displays "DELL" and "www.dell.com".  What is the problem with my computer?

Thanks

Lights 1,2,3 are the "Another Failure" error which means a there is no definite issue identified. So here's is what you should do. First start by disconnecting the hard drive. and boot. See if it will at least give you the  drive not  found error and post. A system posts once it gets by the Dell splash screen. I mention this only because when my hard drive died on my 720 it acted the same way.

IF that makes no difference remove all the cards, remove all your ram sticks. Power on the system and not all indications. Listen for beeps and look at the diagnostic lights.

Check the power button LED, is it blinking green, solid green, blinking amber or solid amber?

Are there any 'Beeps', or error messages?

The XPS 710 Diagnostic Guide and Troubleshooter, is HERE <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

What happens next? I do not see this as a power supply issue as you are getting to at least the post screen. If the system completes the post screen and then does not boot that can be a software issue or a hardware issue.

For the moment when you boot the computer up, make sure that there are no external devices connected to the system except the keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

Let us know if you do get past the Dell splash screen.

The power button is solid green.  There are no beeps or error messages displayed.

The power button light is solid green.  The diagnostics lights 1,2,3 are lit green.

most likely something had come slightly lose and the removal and re-seating solved the issue.

Disconnected the hard drives.  No change.

Removed all the cards, disconnected the hard drives.  Removed the memory.  Reinserted the video card.  Boots with error messages.  Reinstalled memory.  Boots with hard drive error message.  Reconnected hard drive.  Full and complete boot.  Reinserted all cards.  Boots again.  Ran memory diagnosis, memory fine.  Doing hard drive diagnostic now.  Things appear to be fine now, don't know what happened but it is working.  Thanks for the help.
