XPS 8300 video memory integrity test discrepancy

Above error message when running diagnostics.  Seems many problems with video card when searching these forums but lacking in solutions. ePSA error code given as 200-0332 but then the Dell diagnostics page tells me this code is not valid!

Any suggestions as my display is scrambled and the Nvidia driver stops working and causes Windows and desktop to shut down. and then can only restart in safe mode with barely legible display.(so excuse spelling please!).

I have tried installing the latest drivers and nothing seems to happen

Hi Igglepiggle48,

Since the test resulted in the same error, the Video card appears to have encountered failure. We can confirm that by checking if the computer works fine with on-board video. Remove the video card and connect the monitor to the on-board video connector. If the computer works fine, the video card has to be replaced.

As you have mentioned that the computer's warranty has expired, I recommend you to contact our expired warranty services to purchase/replace the compatible parts. Please refer the following link that has contact details for our Expired Warranty Services: http://dell.to/14FoBtb

Hi Igglepiggle48,

The error code 2000-0332 indicates a possible problem with the video card or the motherboard. We can remove and reconnect the video card which can help us diagnose the problem. Please refer the following link for the XPS 8300 service manual: http://bit.ly/VFFD7K

Follow the instructions available in the service manual to remove and reconnect the video card. After that, please run the ePSA again and let me know the results.

Why has this been moved to this forum? XPS 8300 is a DESKTOP not a laptop

Hi, removed and reconnected video card and initially passed ePSA but my the time remainder of test had completed display distortion had started again and rerunning ePSA has returned the same error code.  Any more suggestions please? Typically its not long out of warranty - only 18 months old

Yes, looks like it was the graphics card that is the problem.

Many thanks for your assistance.  Disappointed that something such as this has failed already :emotion-9:
