XPS one 2710 audio issues.

Hey all,

I much preferred Win 10 while it was in development so grabbed it as soon as it was released.  No problems with audio whatsoever.

Here I am now after a few months, with audio issues that sound like I have no bass.  I've replaced the speakers, used electronics cleaner, installed the newest Realtek drivers, installed the Win 10 2710 drivers.   All have resulted in intermittent and random success.  I still cannot diagnose why any of those worked or failed for that matter.

I'm looking for any advice at this point.  After having a nightmare issue getting a motherboard replacement last year that took 2 months to get done correctly with Dell Repair (and never saw any $ in return for the business inconvenience), this machine is alternately the best and the worst to work with, but I just want it back to having a full range of sound.

I have heard of driver issues since others have upgraded, but it makes no sense that it works and then doesn't... or does it?

Help.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, Dell never validated Windows 10 on the XPS One 2710. So we never tested system (chipset, audio, etc.) drivers in Windows 10. So your statement here is confusing, "installed the Win 10 2710 drivers", because they do not exist?

You can attempt to install the retail Intel H77 chipset driver and the retail Realtek High-Definition audio driver. But again, we never tested them so we cannot say if they will or will not work. The other option is to attempt to install the Dell Windows 8.1 drivers in compatibility mode.

And I started it this morning, and have a full range of sound!

Sorry, that was meant to say the 2720 Realtek audio drivers.

Thanks. That actually does help remind me of some of the other steps that might help.
