Xircom 7 Port Multi-function USB Hub

Question

I recently purchased a Xircom 7 port multi-function USB Hub. It allows one parellel, two serial, and four USB ports to be connected to one of my two USB ports. Everything seems to be OK. That is the device shows up in Device Manager under the Universal Serial Bus Controller icon and just below the USB Root Hub icon. Also, under the Ports (Com & LPT) icon the ports have been expanded to include: (Com 3) USB Serial Port 005F0B109C8-S2 (Com 5) USB Serial Port 005F0B109C8-S1 16550 Com Port Emulator Communication Port (Com1) ECP Printer Port (LPT1) There are no red Xs or yellow exclamation marks on any of these items. I'm trying to get my Palm Pilot cradel to work on Com 3. I can use the Device Manager and Properties option to set the port assignment to the Palm hotsinc.exe but nothing works! The Device Manager software indicates that 'this device is working properly.' and that there are 'no conflicts.' Any help would be appreciated. Message Edited on 02/24/02 11:40AM by Mamoose

Hello-Are there some kind of device drivers needed for your Palm unit? Check the Palm manufacturer's website for updated drivers. Check Microsoft's site for potential problems or conflicts with PDAs.
