replying further. Lets do a couple things. First turn off the computer, disconnect the main power cord, Open the case and making sure that you ground yourself to the case (touching the case with your bare hand for at least 30 seconds, remove the  cmos battery, then (without plugging the power cord back in, hit the power button and hold it in for 30 seconds. This will discharge the cmos and nvram. Then replace the cmos battery, check that the sata power and data cables are securely seated on the drive. Then plug the power cord back in, then re-start the system. You should then be directed to the system configuration screen. Re-set the timer (clock) and hit enter. Move to the "save and re-start" and hit enter, system will then try to re-start. let me know what happens next.

ok, real quick. During system defaults (F2) you should be able to scroll down to the maintenance portion, hit enter, then scroll down to factory defaults. highlight it and hit enter. then "esc" save changes and re-start

When your system asks, strike F2. That will take you to the system config screen. Scroll down to the drive section. Make sure that the Sata drive(s) are turned ON.  If it is on (default) then you should make sure that the sata iaStor (sata drivers) have/are installed. If for some reason, they have been corrupted, then you will need to re-install them.

Secondly, if you continue to get the error, and the system "sees" the sata 0 drive, then it is entirely possible that your sata (serial ata) drive has decided to take a permanent vacation. Which of course will mean a replacement.

You can also (providing that your system set up "sees" the sata0 drive) force the system to reset NVRAM (after replacing the cmos battery). This can be done within the F2 (setup) and scrolling down to the maintenance, and telling the system to restore factory default. Of course if you replace the cmos battery, this will in effect "force the system to re-set to factory default"

Hope this helps a little.

That little dingy is a problem CAUSING device that mucks most system's up roally.. It is a battery that is located on the motherboard and provides power to the basic BIOS (basic Input Output System) a part of the NVRAM. It keeps the configuration (of the motherboard) alive so that the computer knows what is or is not connected (such as a sata drive, or a ide drive). and as such will tell the NVRAM what it is supposed to be looking for in order for your system (computer) to look for. and also WHAT order it is supposed to process them. An example: The NVRAM received information from the CMOS that tells the system to load basic system drivers, then tells the system to load any keyboards, mouse, and video cards/instructions. It has to do this in a consecutive order before your system will locate and install the os on the hard drive.

Chrissahloff, if you continue to get the floppy drive error even though you do not have a floppy drive installed then just go into the BIOS Setup and turn OFF the Diskette Drive Controller.   Once that is disabled the error message will be gone on the next boot up.
