buzzing sound from speakers when shutting down computer

Question

i recently reformated my hard drive i reinstalled the drivers for the sound blaster live 5.1 sound card on my dell 4500 i downloaded the latest drivers from creatives website the sound works fine but when i shut down the computer it hangs up for about 25 seconds and makes a loud buzzing sound this did not happen before i formated the hard drive and reinstalled windows xp home edition thanks for any help

If you have a Dell supplied OEM SoundBlaster you should only use the Dell supplied drivers.  If you have a OEM Dell and used the Retail (in many cases they won't even install) that may be where your problem is.

i purchased the sound card and speakers at comp usa when i purchased the computer it had integrated sound i disabled the sound in the bios and installed the card.
