it is a resolustion and a refresh rate conflict

check what your monitor can handle

and games you might have to manually overide the refresh rate

Thanks for advice, but it didnt seem to work. I tried several refresch and resolution settings. I was in 800x600/75hertz/32bit changed to 60hertz-no go, changed to 16bit-nogo changed to 1024x768/75/32bit and the computor wouldnt even boot up befor the error message appered. The program and others work fine on my other computor at all settings. Cant shange settings in game program because error message appeares before the programs totally loads but the box says it just rerquires 16bit high color.

This worked for me:
tep 1. Set the refresh rate for your monitor to 60Hz:

1. Click Start, click Run and type "dxdiag" (without the quotes).
2. Click on the More Help tab
3. Click on the Override button
4. Click on Override Value to select it
5. Enter the value of "60" (without the quotes)
6. Click on OK and click on Exit
Step 2: Set the resolution for your monitor at 800x600 or 1024x768:

-Click on Start button -> then Control Panel, or Start button-> then Settings->
and Control Panel (for Win98/Me)
-Double-click the Display icon.
-Click the "Settings" tab.
-Change the Resolution/Color combinations and then Click Apply then Ok and follow the on-screen instructions.

If your display does not look right after you switch resolutions, leave your computer alone for approximately 15 seconds, and windows will automatically restore your previous settings.
