considering clean install Windows XP on E510; no driver CD came with pc

Hi:

I'm considering a clean install of Windows XP on my E510.  I know I can try the Symantec Restore feature but I'd like to purge all that Dell software from my pc such as all the ISP offers, DellMyWay, etc. and i think the Restore would just leave that intact.

Anyway, no driver CD came with my pc and I can't find several of the drivers on the support site such as the SoundBlaster Live 24bit driver; Intel Prop 100M integrated PCI NIC card.  I tried to e-mail and chat with Dell but it says my warranty is expired.

Also, where can I find the Sonic and PowerDVD programs?

Thanks for any help.

The simplest way is to use the quick restore, and uninstall what you don't need or want. Otherwise, call Dell and ask for the CDs. They will ship them even if you're out of warranty.

I used the quick restore a few times, and it works well.
You can contact Dell and they will send you the OS's Cd.

Run RC Restore to reset the hard drive to exactly the way Dell shipped it (back up personal files to CD first!). Then run the Dell De-Crapifier, free here, to get rid of the bloatware.

Don't forget to reinstall all Microsoft updates and hotfixes after running PC Restore.

Whole lot easier than reinstalling XP, drivers, software etc from scratch!

The driver for SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit card has been missing from the site for months. No explanation why they removed it.
