Are you doing an "orderly" shutdown using the Windows Start/Shutdown?  If not, you need to shut down that way.  If you are just pressing the power button to shut down you will get the disk check as that is not the way to shut down.

If you are doing the proper shutdown procedure, you need to call Dell since it's only 1 month old.  It's in warranty and if there is any problem only Dell support can get it corrected under warranty.

We are just users helping users on this forum, not Dell employees.

First of all, I am NOT computer stupid. I am an admin of a business network and have been through all versions of windows and linux. Of course I am shutting down correctly. This is the first machine I've had this issue with and was just curious if anyone else had has this issue with the Dell Inspiron 2305 all-in-one.

Don't get excited.  We have no way of knowing the ability of the posters and in fact most of the users that seek help are not "techies".  My questions were legitimate.

But, it's not something that should happen and as noted since this is a new PC, best to contact Dell support.

By the way, I've been in computers since 1962 and managed a large LAN/WAN Network and Hardware Help Desk for 23 years (until I retired).

amadeus266, would you happen to know the combination of keys in order to do a factory restore on this system? My daughters has been blue screening alot. I've tried all the combinations and couldn't get any to work.

I think there was a corrupted update that started messing everything up. Nothing important is on it. So I'll just redo it. It's only 3 months old.

Thanks in advance.

Try pressing Ctrl F11  immediately after power on. Or Alt F11.

Starting System Restore
Click 1. Start.
In the search box, type 2. System Restore and press .
NOTE: The User Account Control window may appear. If you are an administrator on the computer, click Continue; otherwise, contact your administrator to continue the desired action.
Click 3. Next and follow the instructions on the screen.
In the event that System Restore did not resolve the issue, you may undo the last system restore.
